Number Sense

At the beginning of the year we focus on numbers bonds and different ways to make 6, 7, 8, and 9.  We make a class anchor chart on all the different ways to make a number. 

The students make flash cards.

Dollar Tree Non-Fiction Treasures

I was in the local Dollar Tree this weekend and found some wonderful resources. These will be a great new addition to my non-fiction collection to use at my small group table. So much I can do with this wonderful cheap resource. 

Check out the free non-fiction resources that I will use with these books on my TPT store.  The stop and think chart is a wonderful resource to have when reading non-fiction. After we finish reading the text they will do a writing piece as a non-fiction expert that is also a freebie on TPT. 

Fairy Tale Journey

I can't wait to start our Fairy Tale journey with my new bunch of kiddos this year.  

On one of the first few days of school each child decorates a crown and we take royal pictures.
